Jane on Fillmore

Our expectations were high, so we even returned for the 2nd try since it was too full for the 1st time we stopped by. I guess we were not that right here. Bottled juice in plastic cup instead of freshly squeezed one (one can get a delicious one at the supermarket for the same price then), dirty tables/floor around (astonishing that staff doesn’t even bother cleaning the table from previous customers), the dish I wanted wasn’t available at 10 AM already, overall the vibe is a little off. Design is cute though and looks like the place is very popular with local crowd, but guess we had no luck, finished our dishes and were swiftly out, which is kinda self-explanatory. Sad.

This place is chaos on a Saturday morning. Truly not worth the 1+ hour you’ll spend hungry waiting for pretty mediocre food. Is it because this place is on Filmore street that it’s so busy? The atmosphere isn’t even very nice in comparison to nearby places. After an hour in a dark corner of the poorly lit resturant I very softly went to check on our order (since there is no table service). In case they forgot our order seeing people behind me in line who ordered the same thing had already finished theirs. They were understandably overwhelmed but it’s pretty bad to just completely and immediately brush me off because they’re too backed up. I left them alone, went back to my table, unsure if I’ll be getting my food. My boyfriend then went, they brushed him off too but he was a bit more assertive than I was and we got our food in a few minutes. It was obviously forgotten. We scoured it down because we so hungry. It was a bit better than the really dry pastry but what a waste to a nice Saturday morning. Never again.
